Name Etymology
Tino is Italian, being a nickname that ends in 'tino'
Matias is the Finnish form of Matthias.
His surname, Nurmi, means meadow in Finnish.
History
Tino Matias Nurmi was born the youngest of six, on a bright May morning in the Åland Islands in Finland. His father, Harri, had met his mother, Aino, when they met on vacation. They met again the next summer, and seeing that as a sign , they started dating and got married. Over the next eleven years, Rainer Harri, Kristen "Krista" Elina, Mikael Reino, Linnea Viivi, Sofia Helmi, and finally Tino were born.
Tino was raised around girls, since those where the genders of the sibling closest in age to him are girls. His brothers were leaving to Durmstang, and his father was always traveling. He is close particularly to his older sister Sofia, being a little more than a year apart.
He was raised uniquely, been a part of both the muggle and magical world. His family lived next to Muggles, and he had and still has Muggle friends. Even when he moved to his dad's childhood place, he still lived near muggles and has no grudge against them.
Tino's mother, Aino, was a Gryffindor at Hogwarts. His father and four oldest siblings went to Durmstang. Aino wanted her two youngest children to go to Hogwarts, but what ended up happening that for a year, one of them would go to a sibling to teach them for a year, and they would start their fourth year at Hogwarts. Currently, Tino is starting his fourth year, in Ravenclaw.
Appearance
Tino, not only grew up with girls, he ended up looking more like his female siblings. His mother and sisters all have blonde hair, but his is more of a dirty blonde, like Sofia's. He has blue eyes, and is considered very handsome. He's taller than Sofia and is nearly surpassing his mother in height. He has quite a nice smile.
Personality
Tino, is, well, lazy. Yeah, he's funny, and nice, and charming, and severely narcissistic and arrogant and cheeky, not mention popular with the ladies, but the best word to describe him is lazy. Yeah, he's loyal, but he's more of a 'I'm not taking a bullet for you, if I have to get in front of you, you have time to move" He's very intelligent, like the rest of his family, and likes giving out fun facts as conversation starters. He's a bit girly, and is a feminist.
Skills and Magical Abilities
Tino is good in many fields of magic.
- Charms: Since this considered a feminine field of magic, he's pretty good at it. *DADA: He's confident he can kick anyone's butt using DADA.
- Herbology: He hates plants. Probably because it involves going outdoors that he doesn't like it.
- Astronomy: Another class he doesn't like. Is it really necessary to go look at stars in the middle of the night?

His parents, due to the fact Harri was always traveling, he's always been close to his muumio.

His older sister, he's very close to her, seeing that they'r a little more than a year apart.

His older brother and wife, he lives with them during the summer. He gets along well with both of them.

His older sister and brother-in-law, he's not as close to her as he is with Linnea and Sofia, but they have a decent relationship. He knows Linus from the times Rainer brought him home over the holidays and summer break, and he likes him.

He doesn't know them as much as Rainer's kids, but he really likes Staffan and Sebastian, the twins.
Mikael and Katriina Nurmi
Katriina's mother was Estonian, but Katriina's father was Finnish. They lived next door to Tino's family when they moved to Helsinki. Tino met her first, along with Mikael, and was pretty confused when Mikael kept shooting him dirty looks when Katriina and him talked happily together. Nonetheless, Katriina and Mikael started dating and got married.

His niece, she's one sweet little girl.

His sister and brother-in-law, he's really close to Linnea, but he's rather suspicious of Ari.
