Yoo was born to Hae-mi and Ji-an on October 21st, 2020; the youngest child of three. Jong Ok being the oldest while Sori was the second oldest. Sie was born 5 years after the second oldest. Considering the age gap between sie and ser siblings they tended to coddle sie, although that changed as the years went on. When Yoo was less than a year old one of his mum’s passed away; Hae-mi. Though that wasn’t the only tragedy that hit, ser other mother was being accused of murder and ser family started moving around. Considering ser age sie didn’t really know what was going on until years later. Yoo would often scream and cry when they were forced to move considering sie didn’t want to, after all they were just getting comfy again.
The moving around didn’t really hurt Yoo’s social skills, considering sie adapted pretty well and decided, at age 6, that sie didn’t want to become close to anyone encase they uprooted once again. Though sie seemed to become more introverted during the times ser siblings were away and ser mum didn't seem to mind and just let sie do what sie wanted to do. That seemed to be her policy when it came to her children: let them be who they are and they'll be happy. Yoo was glad for that, but not at the same time for her leniency. Yoo had ser first sign of magic when sie was 8 and messing with a pile of sticks trying to light them. As to why he was doing this is simple: fire was kind of fun to play with at his age. The wood didn't light and he grew increasingly frustrated as he kept hitting the sparking rocks against one another. That's when it happened. He dropped the rocks and kicked the kindling and just then a fire blazed to life growing with every second. Though as quickly as it ignited it was out shocking Yoo. So sie wasn’t a squib after all? After the incident sie went and told ser mum. She was happy for her child not being a squib, but not so much that she wasn’t mad about the kindling.
Later on that year they moved to the UK, renting a home on the Cox’s property, after something going down with Ty. Yoo wouldn’t know about what happened until Lou slipped up and started teasing him about his online girlfriend. Honestly sie found the situation funny and although sie shouldn’t sie started making fun of the situation as well. Probably pissing off Ty more than sie meant to, considering sie didn’t understand the whole situation.
Over the years Yoo had started to feel weird about being called a ‘boy’ although not against it in any way, sie quite liked being a boy, but sie also liked being a girl at the same time. Was something wrong with them? Sie didn’t speak of this to anyone until one of the neighbor kids started making fun of sie for asking them if it was possible to be a boy and a girl. To say that person overreacted was an understatement. After this happened Yoo stopped going outside as much considering the neighboring children would call sie mean things like ‘fag’ and ‘freak’. The shift in ser behavior was noticed by everyone. though Ty was the first person to take notice of it.
When Ty finally asked sie what was wrong and sie replied with a question: “can a boy be a girl too?” Then sie started crying out of nowhere. Finally letting themselves cry after the whole ordeal. Honestly, it wasn't ser best moment, but after that incident ser brother started sending them articles on transgender people and bigender people. After that Yoo finally talked to ser mum about it. She said that it was perfectly normal to be both and that she wouldn't love sie any less because of it. The next day after they talked ser mother took sie out to but some feminine clothing, although getting weird looks from people, she never discouraged sie.
On yoo’s 10th birthday ser sister, Lou, almost dragged sie to some unsavory place, but Ty managed to play damage control. Yoo still hasn't the faintest clue what it was about but Ty is still telling him to lock ser wardrobe. Why would sie need to keep his clothes safe? Sie never really found out what was going on that day, considering it had started out rather odd. First thing that happened included a levitating cake that sie walked right into, although sie wasn’t the least bit angry, but rather happy and found it funny. That day had to be the weirdest birthday Yoo had ever had.
